Covid-19 Estimates

Current estimates say that countries and regions must achieve about 70% of immunity in their population, by infection or vaccination, so that the number of infections stops growing and therefore ending the Covid-19 pandemic

The vast majority of people (about 80%) will have mild symptoms or no symptoms at all, but they're still contagious. Older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19.
